March 20, 2015 at Atrium Hotel

Quality Management System (QMS) is a collection of processes focused on achieving quality policy and quality objectives to meet customer requireent. Its elements are: Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, Quality Manual, Organizational Structure, Data Management, Product/Service Quality and Continuous Improvement. Examples of such are: Order processing, Production Planning, Measurement of Product/Service/Process, Calibration, Internal Audit, Corrective and Preventive Action. For every Quality Management in an institution, there is a respective and corresponding Quality Management Representative that oversees the association. With this, we have attended such training to hoan our skills as Deputy and Quality Management Representative.

Our resource speaker is Mr. Aurelio L. Ebita, who has a vast experience in auditing quality management systems from different companies in various industries such as Auditor of Certification Internaional Philippines. For the intensive phase, we have talked about Fundamentals of QMS- which direct and control an organization. We have learned that QMS defines what the organization does to manage its processes to ensure that it satisfies the customer's quality requirement, Products or services meet the organization's objectives and lastly complies to statutory and regulatory requirements. We have realized that QMR's general role is through Leadership and Actions- To create an environment where people are fully involved and actualize a millieu in which the Quality Management System can operate effectively. Ensuring that effective and efficient  quality management system is established, implemented and maintained to achieve quality objectives and to decide on actions for the improvement of the quality management system are amongst of our specific roles. Our responsibility includes ensuring needed QMS are entrenched and sustained; Reporting to top management of the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement; and ensuring promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. It has been inculcated on our mind the essentiality of applying both Principles of Process Approach and System Approach in managing and directing any activities. It is indeed a remarkable experience for us to attend such training for it made us realize the vitality of the role of QMR in QMS Implementation.

"Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort and intelligent execution- It is not a skill, but it is an attitude". And we strongly believe that we are geared towards Excellence in maintaining and implementing QMS in San Lorenzo Ruiz Women's Hospital.
